Burberry Women
The Burberry plaid is probably one of the most highly successful branding schemes ever launched. The distinctive tan plaid sported in most of its products have become the most popular logo that people from all other the world could easily recognize and associate with the Burberry brand.
The history of Burberry clothing can be traced back to the humble beginnings of its founder Thomas Burberry who was 21 at that time and merely a draper's apprentice to open a small outfitter shop in Hampshire, England way back in 1856. The store's staunch commitment to quality and constant innovation in all the fabrics used in their products and deigns gradually earned him a loyal clientele. By 1870, the small shop has become an emporium, and many people have come to depend on the brand to carry its unquestionable quality and durability. In fact, the Gerbardine, which is a type of breathable and weatherproof and highly resilient fabric, was first developed by the ingenuity of Burberry and this was later introduced in the 1880's.
With the growing followers and a rising demand for their product, the trade name was changed to Thomas Burberry & Sons, and the business was expanded towards the west end of London. Not one to rest of his laurels, Burberry continued to developed yet another innovation called the Tielocken, which turned out to be the predecessor of the modern trench coat, what were eagerly adopted by most of the British Officers at the height of the Boer War. The famous Burberry plaid was later registered as a trademark that was predominantly used as inner linings for the trench coats.
But is the women's fashion exists in all these? While it might seem to be more of the men's world, Burberry has recognized the need to introduce apparels especially made for women. This is of course included the famous trench coats. The Burberry Women's line was later introduced to the delights of many females who highly valued quality as well as the stylishness of their clothes. The Burberry women collection included a number of products, mainly apparels, outerwear, swimwear, golf outfits, watches and jewelry along with fabulous fragrances that titillate the senses of every lady. Today, the female members of society makes up a major bulk in the product's clientele and the Burberry Women clothing line resolutely cater to the various design preferences of women from all ages, with different cultural backgrounds.

With Famous Hollywood actress Kate Moss as the top brand endorser, the brand continued to take unprecedented choice among prominent members of the society. However, lately the company has suffered large financial blows tat resulted to the closure of the factory in Treorchy in South Wales just last March 2007. This is mainly because despite the 22 % profit increase in the last years, the firm has stated that the South Wales plant was not considered to be commercially viable.
Still, simple blows could not easily topple the fashion giant such as Burberry who has operated for more than a century and has maintained an impeccable reputation over the years. So if you are looking for a product that can best reflect understated elegance and unquestionable quality, the importance of the Burberry plaid through the years may just be all the assurance you will ever need.
