When he finally found a financial backer to help him start his business, he bought the Polo brand and officially launched it as the Ralph Lauren Polo label that became his springboard to creating a billion-dollar fashion empire practically from scratch.

He extended his tie businesses and started featuring apparels for both sexes, and soon earned the reputation of being young innovators of lifestyle and luxury products.
